Gruner Stucky

Mission Overview

Description :

During my Engineering Internship at Gruner Stucky SA in Lausanne, I worked on the topic of road infrastructure maintenance management within the urban and road infrastructure department. This assignment allowed me to contribute to the development of concrete technical solutions for optimizing maintenance operations:

  • Development of an optimized maintenance strategy for road projects, based on the company's internal standards and available operational capacities

  • Design and implementation of infrastructure condition audit tools, using technical data provided by Services Industriels de Genève (SIG)

  • Application of industrial skills in the field of civil road engineering for the drafting of technical expert reports

  • Development of an in-situ inspection protocol for assessing pavement deterioration and monitoring the condition of tunnel structures

  • Participation in field inspection campaigns to test and refine the proposed methodologies

This experience strengthened my skills in applied engineering, technical project management, and data exploitation for the monitoring and maintenance of complex infrastructure.

Technical environment: SQL, Excel, QGIS, Kuba, Python, HTML, Javascript

Academic Awards :

Developed and implemented an infrastructure condition audit process during my engineering internship at Gruner Stucky SA, enabling significant operational improvements:

  • Successfully conducted field tests of the inspection methodology on urban and tunnel infrastructures, validating its technical relevance and reliability

  • Ensured knowledge transfer by delivering documentation and training sessions to engineers in the department, allowing seamless integration of the process into ongoing operations

  • Contributed to reducing inspection time and optimizing maintenance costs by improving the accuracy of condition assessments and prioritization of interventions

  • Provided a framework for predictive maintenance planning, supporting better anticipation of repair needs and resource allocation in case of observed structural degradation

This achievement demonstrated the practical value of combining engineering analysis with field-based validation to enhance infrastructure asset management.
